Programming can be very stressful.
If you on top of that, sit all day in an uncomfortable chair and not drink enough water your health can be shaken.
I have already talked about the benefits of drinking plenty of water.
I have tried to practice Yoga and Tai Chi for stress relief, but both were too complicated for me.
I spent countless hours trying to master simple Tai Chi form without getting any benefits. I realized that I hurt myself.
From my personal experience to master most easiest form in Tai Chi you need to practice at least 1 year if not even more.
Then I discovered Qigong.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) was so easy for me and so powerful.
Practices are very easy to grasp and you can learn them easily by watching YouTube videos.
I felt the benefits from the absolute beginning. After first exercise I have already felt better and more relaxed.
Exercises in Qigong are very natural and can have different purposes such as increasing the Qi, circulate it, use it to cleanse and heal the body, store it.
The second great advantage of Qigong over all other disciplines is that the exercises are very short.
So if you want to relieve stress you can easily do 2-3 short exercises and after 3 minutes you are already feeling better.

Qigong is China’s 3000 year old system of self-healing.
Qigong typically involves coordinating slow flowing movement, moving meditation, rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind.

What Qigong form should I choose
There are many Qigong forms out there, however only a few are very popular.
From my personal experience I can recommend Six Healing Sounds form because it is also very simple to learn.
I also recommend that you Google for Modern Qigong.
This form of Qigong is developed by master Lee Holden and it is more suitable for modern people.

Programming and QiGong
As we know, programmer job can be very stressful and difficult, so I recommend that every programmer try to practice Qigong to relieve stress and improve mental clarity and concentration.
Qigong is easy to learn and only takes a few minutes a day.
